Sing Buri is a small province on the Chao Phraya, celebrated for the villagers of Bang Rachan who held out against the Burmese army before Ayutthaya fell in 1767. Beyond the Bang Rachan memorial park, visitors come for the large reclining Buddha at Wat Phra Non Chaksi and the famous grilled snakehead fish from the Mae La river. The provincial town is calm and unhurried.
